NOAA forecasts Tropical Storm Idalia to become a major hurricane as it continues its track toward Florida’s west coast. Remember, for those insureds with hurricane or tropical storm coverage, these trigger automatically based on NOAA data and are processed immediately when RMA releases the weather data. If a Hurricane Insurance Protection (HIP) payment is triggered, the full value of the hurricane protection amount is paid out. If a tropical storm payment triggers, you will receive 50% of your hurricane protection amount.
